MERLOT Journal of Online Learning and Teaching
Vol. 4, No. 2, June 2008

From the JOLT Editors...

June 15, 2008

It is with much appreciation and excitement that we present our first “special” issue of JOLT, offering a collection of invited papers that were solicited and selected by our guest editor, Colleen Carmean of Arizona State University, who has worked tirelessly to bring this issue together. As an online journal, we have a unique opportunity to identify topics of interest to our readership – and to quickly respond to “hot topics” in a timely manner.

We believe that the future of how we will teach online is a pressing issue – and one that will evolve over time. And, it is our mission to document this evolution. JOLT seeks to provide a venue for the scholarly work of our colleagues as they explore new approaches to online education.

In the interest of continuing to offer a venue for your scholarly work, we are pleased to also offer five "regular" articles on a variety of topics that were submitted and reviewed via our established peer review process.

Sincerely,

Edward Perry, Ph.D.
Michelle L. Pilati, Ph.D.
