MERLOT Journal of Online Learning and Teaching
Vol. 5, No. 1, March 2009

With this issue JOLT begins its fifth volume. With each issue the journal grows in the number of manuscripts submitted, the number published, and the number of vistors to the site. In this issue you will find 17 papers on a variety of topics including three papers based on presentations made at a business conference in California last fall.

Although the vast majority of our readers are in the USA, JOLT reaches a readership that literally spans the globe. In the past month alone we had over 6,700 visits to our website from readers in 118 countries, and those visitors viewed over 18,000 pages. The most popular paper was viewed 398 times, and we had over 10 papers viewed 100 times or more.

In June we have an exciting special issue planned on the topic of "Integrity and Identity Authentication in Online Learning." The response to our Call for Papers for this special issue has been quite good, and we look forward to presenting a collection of papers on this very timely topic along with an array of equally interesting papers on a variety of other topics.

We thank you for your support and hope you will help us spread the word that JOLT is fast becoming recognized as a preminent online journal.

Sincerely,

Michelle L. Pilati, Ph.D.
Edward Perry, Ph.D.
