Dear JOLT Readers -
With JOLT's initial issue appearing in the summer of 2005, this issue marks the beginning of our fifth year of publishing papers of interest to the online learning and teaching community. To date we have published 184 papers from authors in twelve countries.
Of particular note is the fact that submissions during the past year were up by over 100% compared to the previous year.
In the past tweleve months we have had over 81,000 visits to the JOLT website, an increase of almost 100% over the previous twelve months. During these visits over 199,000 pages were viewed.
With this issue we are encouraging our readers to engage in a bit of social networking by making it easy to refer friends and collegaues to papers of mutual interest through bookmarks on delicious.com and refererrals on Facebook.
Last Spring we contacted all of the past JOLT authors to determine their level of satisfactioon with the peer review and publ;ication process. We were delighted to find that 97% of these past authors would recommend JOLT as a publiucation venue to their colleagues and that 96% regard JOLT as a valuable resource to the online teaching community.
In this September issue you will find 13 papers covering a variety of topics. Enjoy, and tell your friends and colleagues about JOLT!
